Curing Peyronie’s Disease
Peyronie's disease is a condition that has been named after a famous surgeon who served King Louis XIV of France. His name was Francois de la Peyronie and in 1743 he was the first person that was able to describe this rare condition. At this time there was not a lot of information available as to how the inner parts of the penis work. Unfortunately, there is still not a lot of information as to how this disease is brought about. However, there is a simple description of this disease available.
The tough layer of connective tissue in your penis is known as “Tunica Albuginea.” This tissue surrounds the soft Corpora Cavernosa. At some point, scar tissue begins to form in the “Tunica Albuginea.” This tissue prevents your penis from expanding normally whenever it becomes erect and instead your penis bends to one side or another.
At first, this disease is somewhat painful. However, the pain will eventually go away on its own. Therefore there is no need for painkillers. As aforementioned, the only effect of this disease is a curved penis during erection or some shortening whenever the penis is not erect. Most men who suffer from this disease are able to have sex with their partners without experiencing any pain. However, the curvature of the penis will come close to being 90 degrees, thus making intercourse much more of a problem.
Peyronie's disease can affect men of all races and ages. However, it is most commonly seen in Caucasian men over the age of 40. This is not a contagious disease, nor is it an indication of cancer or any other serious condition. Unfortunately there is no cure but some men do experience relapses. There is a very large list of treatments that have been developed to fight Peyronie’s disease. None of these have proven to be the best solution for this disease though.
One of the treatments that is highly recommended is surgery. During surgery, an implant can be inserted as a type of intervention. These are plastic cylinders that are either solid or inflatable. They are placed inside of the Corpora Cavernosa where they help to straighten out the penis.
Another way in which this disease is treated is by using tissue grafts. In this surgical procedure the lump of plaque that develops on the penis is completely removed so that the penis can be brought back to its original shape. If you have a large plaque or a severely bent penis, your doctor will more than likely advise you patients to have this type of surgery performed.
The most widely used method for straightening congenital curvature of the penis is the Nesbit Procedure, which is another form of surgery. During this procedure your penis will be filled with a sterile physiologic salt solution. This will cause you to have an artificial erection. Once this occurs the surgeon will use a clamp to gather the outer side of the bend and force it to become straight. Of course, there are some other treatments that look quite promising. One such treatment includes using either Collagenase or Verapamil injections to break down, remove and prevent further plaque from forming. Another treatment uses vitamin E to help repair the skin and prevent more plaque from forming. This is a treatment that has been around since the 1940's since the skin healing properties of Vitamin E have been known for quite some time.
One of the best ways to deal with Peyronie’s disease is to use a traction device in order to straighten the penis. This treatment is surrounded by some controversy, but there have been several clinical studies done to assess this treatment's effectiveness. The traction device is part of the SizeGenetics penis enlargement program. It works by forcing the tissue that makes up the penis to expand instead of retract. Doctors believe that this retraction is what increases the curvature. According to these studies, the regular use of this device will reduce the curvatures of the penis. It will also help you to either maintain or increase the size of your penis.
The health authorities that compose the European Union has classified this traction device as a Medical Device Type 1. As such, this device bears the CE signature. The manufacturing process of this device is fully compliant with the quality management standards that have been set forth in SO13485:2003 and ISO90001:2000. If you choose to purchase the the SizeGenetics package, you will also get a free membership to PenisHealth. This is a penis exercise program that features a series of exercises that have been designed to decrease the curvature of the penis, which is caused by Peyronie’s disease. Through this program, you will learn how to increase your penis' length and girth, correct any curvature that may exist, prevent premature ejaculation and maintain sexual fitness.
