Penis Enlargement

Ineffective Penis Enlargement Treatments

Many men are willing to try nearly anything for a larger penis. Because of the concern men feel about the size of their penis, there tends to be a large number of men using incorrect or "rip-off" penis enlargement methods. These methods can be uncomfortable to use, ineffective, or even harmful to penile health.

Most studies into penis health and male self esteem show that most men are not completely satisfied --or often deep unsatisfied-- with the size of their penis and their sexual performance. And most of these men are unwilling or too embarrassed to take this problem to their doctor. This has resulted in a myriad of programs and products looking to take advantage of men desperate to make a change in their sexual health.

Low self-esteem or self-consciousness about sex and penis-size is a vicious cycle. A man who feels that his penis is too small to satisfy his lover will feel a lack of confidence that often directly affects his sexual performance. This can lead to a softer, smaller erection, which only exacerbates a lack of confidence. Sometimes, that lack of confidence can take deep root, causing a lack of desire to have sex and making the woman in your life feel sexually rejected. This can cause sometime insurmountable problems between otherwise-happy couples.

Many men are desperate to find their way out of this vicious, unhappy cycle, and look to the different penis enlargement methods advertised throughout the adult entertainment industry. These products, including pills, sprays, and creams, claim they are effective at enlarging the penis. Though they sound attractive to many men, the claims these products makes are often outrageous, and generally untrue. Read more to find out about the penis enlargement methods that do not work.

Enlargement Creams

Studies have proven that, no matter what a manufacturer claims, no topical preparation can do more for your penis than simply increase blood flow. While increased blood flow can help with having a harder erection and aid in the use of other penis programs, it has absolutely no effect on the true size of the penis.

Penis Pumps

Probably the most widely-seen penis enlargement product is the penis pump. Pumps like these are advertised all over the adult entertainment industry, including the internet and magazines. The advertisements claim that these pumps function by creating a vacuum around the penis to bring blood into the tissue. While this can help men with poor circulation to have an erection, there is no medical evidence that pumps increase the actual size of the penis. Penis pumps can actually be detrimental to sexual health in the long run, as men who use them for a long period of time sometimes find they are unable to achieve an erection without the pump.

Penile Weights

Penile weights are one of the penis enlargement methods with the longest history; men have tried this method for hundreds of years. While hanging a weight from the penis in order to stretch it CAN result in a longer penis over time, it has more drawbacks than benefits. For one, penile weights result in a thinner penis. Also, due to the stretching of the tissue, men who use weights often have a lesser ability to achieve and keep an erection. Using weights can also decrease blood circulation to the penis, which often leads to tissue damage.

Enlargement Surgery

There are a couple of different penis enlargement surgery methods. While both are effective to a certain degree, both come with their share of downfalls and side-effects. In one penis enlargement method, a small amount of fat is taken from the body and injected into the penis. This does not have much effect on penis length, but slightly increases the girth of the penis.

Another penis enlargement method requires severing of some of the connective tissue at the top of the penis. This also does not enlarge or lengthen the penis. Instead, the penis will jut out further from the body. The severing of connective tissue results in less support for the penis, making the erection stand up from the body less than before.

Surgery is definitely the most extreme and invasive step a man can take towards enlarging his penis. While both methods mentioned above have their own benefits and drawbacks, there are several pitfalls common to both methods. For one, penis enlargement surgery can lead to serious complications, such as infection. The surgery can also create scar tissue, causing a deformed or misshapen penis.

Also, penis surgery has no effect on the frequency or quality of your erection. This is controlled exclusively by blood flow to the penis.

Enlargement pills

To put it simply, 80% of the enlargement pills available on the market are a rip-off. Most of these are simply vitamin pills that will have no effect on penis size. While there are a few pills available that ARE effective, it's important to do your research and choose carefully before buying.
